Holy cow, guys – Only two more weeks in the first trimester! I can hardly believe it. The downside though is my nausea and food aversions have been at an all time high the past three days. One gal I was chatting with online compared the first trimester sickness to a 24/7 hangover, and it’s so true! Nausea, dizziness, irritability, headaches, and food aversions to boot make for a very cranky lady!
Some things I’ve loved the last couple weeks:
My Boppy Body pillow! I actually purchased this during Amazon Prime Day last month so I got it for a pretty good deal, and I am sure glad I did. I’ve been pretty crampy in my lower abdomen and back in the last week or so with all the growing and stretching my body is doing, and this really helps be not only keep my knees aligned well while sleeping, but also helps to sleep train me to stop sleeping on my stomach.
Sea-Bands Acupressure Bands! I can’t say for sure if it’s the placebo effect or if these actually help the nausea, but I practically wore these during our entire NYC vacation and even know sometimes in the mornings I feel like I need to slap them on to take the edge off. I think they work, and they are inexpensive enough to try out if you’re feeling a little queasy also.
Veami Nursing Sleep Bras! I purchased only one of these on Amazon a week or so ago as a couple girl friends of mine recommended switching over to nursing bras while pregnant as they are just more comfortable for the growing bosom and I wanted to try it out. I didn’t want to get the ones with the nipple flaps since it seemed to early for that so I got this one instead. It’s surprisingly SO comfortable but still gives me a good amount of support so I’m not flopping all over the place. One Con though, there’s no padding so the always-erect-pregnancy nipples stick out at everyone all the time. Still worth it.
Other than that I’ve transitioned from liking all of the salty foods to being back on sweets. Mainly ice cream, which is unfortunate as my body doesn’t seem to digest ice cream well and it usually gives me an upset stomach. I’m only counting this as a slight negative since it clears out the pregnancy constipation really fast! Ha!
Below is a picture of my 4 week “belly” versus this week at 10 weeks! I know that it’s not baby showing, but I feel like I’m getting a little fluffier in the midsection now which I think it awesome - even if it is just from all the Cheetos I ate. Bring on the baby bump!!
