Wow. Just WOW! I am halfway done being pregnant. I've said it a hundred times, but I'll say it again - I cannot believe this pregnancy is going so fast.
This coming Tuesday we have our Anatomy Scan also. So, not only am I halfway done being pregnant but I am also 4 days away from knowing if my little peanut is a he or a she!
The last couple weeks have been pretty uneventful. No major symptom changes yet. I have been feeling even more emotional/depressed, but I blame that more on our weather change here in the Midwest over my hormones. It's gotten very gloomy and rainy this last week and I am already missing the sunshine.
I have also been finding myself much more maternal at home. I haven't been nesting necessarily (yet!) but I have been finding myself even more so preoccupied with housework, caring for my husband and stepson.
The two negative symptoms over the last few weeks have been: Headaches, and Bleeding! Not vaginal bleeding thank goodness, but pretty much every other kind of bleeding. Bloody noses, gums, small scrapes that act like an arm was chopped off... all of that. I know that you increase your blood volume significantly while pregnant, so any little oopsie has the potential for a lot more blood to come out but it's feeling a little ridiculous right now. The other night I was up later than I should've been chatting away with my darling husband, and then I finally dozed off only to be woken up an hour or so later to a bloody nose that got ALL OVER MY BOPPY PREGNANCY PILLOW!!! UGH!! It was a BIG DEAL at the time because I was half asleep, bleeding to death (or it felt like it anyway), and now my boppy was out of order? It was too much for me. Luckily my husband is a sweetheart and rinsed the boppy cover off so it wouldn't stain, wrapped the boppy in a different blanket, and got me back to bed.
Other than that my only gripe is headaches. They are never really bad, just painful or uncomfortable enough to be annoying. I've been trying my hardest to stay away from Tylenol - although the midwives say it's perfectly safe - so I try to calm the headaches with naps or a small cup of caffeinated coffee. Usually the coffee will help take the edge off, and as a bonus it helps keep my digestion moving which can be slow sometimes while pregnant (Yay, constipation!).
Looking forward to coming back to update everyone after our Anatomy Scan. EEEEEEEK!
