We are slowly but surely creeping up on the third trimester! Baby boy is becoming more and more active, and my belly is getting larger and larger. I thought it would be fun to do some stats for the remainder of my posts so I'll post that below!
Only other item to note is at my next midwife appointment I will be doing my 1-hour gestational diabetes test. I'm really nervous since so many women seem to fail their test, but I'm trying to stay positive. Since my husband and I don't eat/drink heavily processed foods, GMOs, and avoid corn syrup as much as possible I am opting to skip the typical Glucola drink. My midwife has approved that I take 3 tablespoons of organic raw honey in water as a replacement. I'm very happy about that! I wasn't looking forward to drinking something that looks like ... Flat orange soda. Ick! Anyway, Fingers crossed it goes well - I'll keep you all updated.
Other than that, my Mother in Law is currently gearing up for my baby shower in January. I'd by lying if I said I wasn't excited. I've finally been getting into the nesting thing, and FINALLY started acquiring things for baby. So far I have gotten both a crib, changing table, and changing table pad. Also, some decor items from Hobby Lobby. I'm trying my hardest to not buy any novelty type things - toys, clothes, onsies, etc. - since I know those are popular gifts at baby showers and I don't want to end up with more than I need. So, for now I'm behaving myself. Hopefully we can get our basement finished off soon so I can actually start putting the nursery together. Right now it's just a room full of stuff since it's doubling as our home office. TALK ABOUT STRESS!
24 Week Stats:
Until next time, y'all!! Say a little prayer for me and my gestational diabetes test!

24 Week Stats:
- Weight Gain: +6lbs total so far! Not a lot for being so close to the third trimester, but my Midwife said she's going to keep an eye on this, and she is assuming I'm really going to pack on some pounds during this last trimester. I've been working on upping my protein intake as much as possible to help baby pack on some pounds (and me too)!
- Maternity Clothes: I'm still wearing mostly non-maternity clothes. It's not comfortable, but I only have a few maternity pieces so far and I haven't had the time or the interest in buying more lately. I really need to do that though because the hair-tie trick on my work slacks isn't cutting it very well anymore!
- Stretch Marks? None yet! But I'm just waiting for the morning I wake up to tiger stripes. My belly is very tight and itchy. Plus, I've seemed to have developed a rash on either side of my belly as well. I'll be getting that checked out at our upcoming Midwife appointment.
- Sleep: Sleep...? What's that?? Just kidding. I am tired all the time, but have a very hard time sleeping at night. Between the hip and back pain from having to sleep on my side, and the bad dreams that seem to be never ending it's hard to feel well rested once morning comes. Luckily, I still only get up once (if that) every night to use the bathroom.
- Miss Anything? Lately, being intimate with my husband!! Sorry for the TMI, but It's true. We try but it just feels... weird for me. That and trying to maneuver into comfortable positions is somewhat annoying.
- Movement: Lots! Usually kicks and rolls, and still pretty low down. Baby's stayed away from my ribs so far.
- Food Cravings: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. DROOL!
- Queasy or Sick? Not normally, but I have moments when the smell of cooking meat reminds me of a wet dog... needless to say I am unable to eat that meat once it's cooked! It's bizarre and doesn't happen all the time. Only sometimes.
- Best Moment this Week: I FINALLY SAW MOVEMENT ON THE OUTSIDE! For weeks I've been trying to catch kicks by watching my belly, but it seemed like every time I'd start watching baby would stop kicking. Finally this week he kept going and I got to see belly movements.
- Symptoms: Still not many aside from being fatigued. My hunger comes and goes too. The little kicks and jabs are really what reminds me I'm pregnant. Well, that and my belly getting in the way sometimes.
- Labor Signs? None yet! I haven't even had any Braxton Hicks contractions; which I've been told can start happening anytime now.
- Belly Button - In or Out? Pretty much just flat. We'll see if it pops out, but I'm assuming it'll just stay pretty flat.
- Wedding Rings - On or Off? On! I haven't had any swelling at all so far, and I feel lucky because of that!
- Happy or Moody? Mostly moody! I think that has to do a lot more with my trouble sleeping lately rather than pregnancy hormones.
- Looking forward to: I kind of already addressed this, but I'm really looking forward to my upcoming baby shower as well as getting baby's nursery setup started. It's making me feel like things are really getting real.
Until next time, y'all!! Say a little prayer for me and my gestational diabetes test!
