We had our Anatomy Scan on November 3rd which was a lovely appointment. Here are some stat's from the Midwives/Sonographer:
1. Baby weighs about 3/4 pound
2. Fluid levels look great
3. Placenta is posterior and not near my cervix
4. 149bpm heartbeat - heart has all four ventricles formed
5. 10 fingers, and 10 toes accounted for!
6. Nose/Lips look good
7. Mama has gained 3lbs since getting pregnant
8. BABY IS A BOY!!!!
We are so excited! I had spent the first trimester convinced I was going to have a baby girl. I don't know if I ever mentioned it but I had a "gut feeling." Once we got further into the second trimester, though, and after a few long talks with my Dad I no longer felt that way. In three generations of my family, and as far back as I know in my husband's family, there have only been 3 girls born. Otherwise, ALL BOYS. So, The odds may have been stacked in favor of Team Blue. Regardless, I am over the moon. My stepson is also pretty stoked to have a baby brother.
My headaches and bloody noses/gums have continued to be a nuisance. Overall, still no really bad or distracting pregnancy issues. Thank goodness for that! My back and hips have become sore on a few occasions, especially after having to sit for a long time. So, I am dragging my husband out of the house this weekend to take a walk. I need to start keeping myself more active now to help prepare for our big move coming up as well as labor!
So, yes, after quite the emotional and mental roller coaster we are APPROVED for our new home and will be closing/getting the keys on Nov. 25. Which is exciting, terrifying, and overwhelming. Ha! The good thing is we will no longer be in a rental. So we can get the basement finished, have rooms for both kids, and really work on paying for our investment versus just giving someone else so much money every month. So, overall exciting!
Our next Midwife appointment is coming up on Friday next week, and I'm looking forward to seeing where I am with my weight gain and talk with them a little more about that. Based on our check-ups and anatomy scan baby is getting all he needs, but the fact that I am over halfway through this pregnancy and only having gained 3lbs makes me feel like it's not enough. So, I'll check in with that and let you all know any tips or info I get for diet or gaining a little more.
Finally - Meet our baby boy!!! No name for him yet, the husband and I are still trying to agree on one but hopefully soon. He's the most precious thing ever!
